1929 FIAT GIPSY HISTORIC RACE CAR

This historic Fiat aero engine vintage racer was built in the tradition of the great racing cars of the 1920s and like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Babs and the Parry-Thomas special, it is a great crowd pleaser of enormous presence. When this 1929 6.2 Liter 4 cylinder de Havilland Gipsy Major aircraft engine is started, it draws a crowd like moths to a light bulb. Fully documented by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) and it comes with its historical log book and is in compliance with all rules and regulations for worldwide vintage racing. This car is a major draw card every time it competes at historical race meetings. Whenever it isn't actually on the track the vehicle has a constant crowd of appreciative spectators, all wanting to know more and to simply have a good look. Not only does it perform well, its slight Art Deco appearance, which is consistent with the period it represents, is a masterpiece in itself and the attention to detail is second to none. This is evident through a number of key elements such as the old Fiat radiator surround combined with the chassis and body shape and the many deco items on the trim. It is a unique vehicle that has been exhibited on loan at vintage aircraft museums and exercised on vintage aircraft show days. The 130hp Gipsy motor has been completely rebuilt.
