Details
This rumble seat Runabout was the sportiest model of the time and an incredible car. The Twin Six engine is regarded as the first production V12 and was initially offered from 1916 through 1922. Engine specs are 424cid and 90hp. The transmission is 3-speed manual. Examples of the fantastic craftsmanship from the era are abundant throughout the car. The only non-original component of the car is the rear body/rumble seat compartment which has been replaced with a non-metallic replica of the
original section. Features include a very unusual ornate radiator mascot/motor meter, outstanding lights, spring loaded bumper, wooden spoke artillery wheels, a very unusual rear mounted dual spare tire carrier, complete original dash with 8-day clock and a pressurized fuel system with air pressure supplied by the original onboard compressor. This car was featured on Packard - An American Classic Car narrated by Edward Herrmann and is the 392nd oldest Packard, 1 of 178 Twin Six Packards in existence and 1 of 3 Twin Six 1920 Runabouts. The engine and serial numbers are correct for the year. Purchase includes two original owner's manuals and other parts/service manuals. Best of Show and People's Choice at the 2002 Packard Meet in TX, Best in Class and Best of Show at the 2011 VMCAA Abbey Meet in CO. Awards not included.
