Highly accurate Cobra 427 SC Shelby American chassis CSX6162. Not to be mistaken for a kit car, this Cobra is a painted fiberglass-bodied rolling chassis from Shelby American, Inc., U.S. engine builders with many racing championships under their belt. The emphasis was placed on building a very durable and streetable engine that made 558hp at 6000rpm and 545 ft/lbs at 4400rpm with a mild street cam. It has been dressed with many correct parts, including Aviaid oil pan, sandcast Cobra valve covers, medium riser intake, LeMans carburetor and turkey pan air box. The original Ford dual-point distributor housing exchanges the dual-point unit for a hidden pertronix electronic unit to send strong, reliable spark through an original-style cap and vintage Ford Racing wires. The bellhousing and SFI approved Lakeland scatter shield house a McLeod dual performance clutch actuated by a Kirkham billet aluminum clutch and slave cylinder for very pleasant and reliable clutching action. Power runs through a fully upgraded Liberty Gear TKO 600 5-speed with bronze shift fork pads, surface treated hubs and sliders, internal linkage upgrade, Liberty threaded front cluster bearing support and carbon fiber blocking rings. The car also features a competition windshield as well as the original standard windshield, and both are set up to swap out fairly easily. Also included are an original-style swept-forward shifter, black ceramic coated headers and side pipes, Raydyot mirrors and Lucas headlight, and removable tonneau cover to add to overall aesthetic authenticity.
